It's been a while... again. π
Windows has come with his default yellow folder style for a long time now and I always tried changing it, until Windows 10 (or maybe 8.1, I don't remember) made it more difficult to make this kind of customization. Looking online, there are a lot of icon packs available, but they change "too much" of the look and feel and I was never really satisfied with the results.
Then I've recently discovered this awesome
iPack Builder,
which, supposedly, makes it really easy to create your own icon packs,
and decided to give it a try. I then fired up my Adobe Fireworks (yes, I said "Fireworks", let it go π
) and started vectoring those folders.
There's a total of 41 folder icons on imageres dll, but most of them is a combination of other existing icons, so that helped a lot. π There was though a few ones which I couldn't find a resource anywhere dll-based, and also didn't look very good on vector, so I had to manually crop and recreate all anti-aliasing to be the most close to the original as possible. These ones sucked. π΅
In the end, everything turned out great, and it got me so excited I ended up making various different packs. π So I decided to share them, specially because there may be people out there wanting a more "clean" variation of the default folders.
